The Town of Edson and Yellowhead County (collectively referred to as the "Solicitor") are looking to construct new multi-use recreational facility for both communities. The project was initially intended to be a brand new facility located in the northeast quadrant of the Town of Edson; however, design-build prices exceeded funding capabilities of the communities and so we're looking to evaluate options to complete the project within the approved $70M budget with as much of the program intact as possible. 

The full program currently committed to in the funding agreement includes:

• Two Standard Ice Rinks w/ boards
• Aquatics facility with lane pool (6 lanes minimum), child pool, lazy river, water slide, hot tub and sauna/steam room
• 4 sheet curling surfaces
• Gymnasium w/ walking track and fitness areas
• Skate Sharpening/Pro Shop and Food Service Provision areas

Other features that would be great to include, if they can fit inside the budget, are:

• climbing wall
• indoor playground
• multi-use rooms/ meeting spaces
• seating in the aquatics facility
• lease spaces for additional food services, private paramedical services, Boys and Girls Club, Primary Care Network
• Teen Drop in Area

The Solicitor is seeking a Consultant to evaluate whether or not the Town of Edson's existing leisure center can be renovated to accommodate desired programming for a new multi-use facility and develop conceptual designs with cost estimates which may be used to amend existing funding agreements for the project.
